The year is 1991 after 16 years of a successful job at San Fransico's La Pinata mexican restraunt, Salvador Sahagun and Lorenzo Ramos decide to start their own business. However the price of starting a business in California is dramaticly high, Sahagun and Ramos have a limited budget. In search of a better oppurtunity they head to Washington state. The two "amigos" find a location at 4719 California Ave West Seattle. Their goal is to provide the first authentic mexican restraunt in the Seattle area. The bench's and Tables where hand made out of wood. In order to get the old hamburger joint operational the amigos had to spend a couple nights in the basement working and working.

Sixteen years later and there are over 15 locations spaning from Burlington to Tacoma. Tacos Guaymas is now a trademark location and land mark. "I remember seeing little kids in there strollers and I know see the same kids going on dates at our stores" Recalls Sahagun.
